Marchisio Cassettes

Competing brands and annual changes in specifications have left most bike riders holding expensive equipment, sometimes even complete bikes with almost no support from the major component manufacturers.

Marchisio sprockets from Torelli bridge the gap between the various manufacturers and their product changes.

Marchisio Sprockets, through the use of unique adapter rings, fit on Campagnolo 8, 9, and 10 speed systems as well as Shimano 8 and 9 speed systems (sadly, we cannot put 10 cogs on a Shimano freehub body).

More than that, because the cogsets are not predetermined at the factory, you may assemble any combination of our sprockets from 11 to 28 teeth, even putting a 9 speed cassette on a Campy 8 speed hub.

Finally, when worn out, single cogs can be replaced. No need to buy expensive complete cassettes again.

The following components are used to build the cassette:

Adapters: Allow the individual cog to fit onto a specific hub. This allows the same sprockets to be used on Shimano, Campy 9/10, or Campy 8 speed hubs.

Spacer Set: Spacing for Shimano 8 or 9 speed systems, or Campy 8, 9 or 10 speed shifting systems.

Starting cog(s): The 11 and 12 tooth sprockets must match your particular hub. 13-18 can be fitted to any type hub with the adapter. Note: using an 11 T start requires a 12 T start cog in second position.

Middle cogs: Available in 13 - 30 teeth. These are fitted onto the hub via the appropriate adapter for the hub.

End Cog: Special 10th position cog required for Campagnolo 10 speed systems. Cassettes for Campagnolo 10 speed fit only on Campagnolo 9/10 speed compatible hubs and require a special 10th position cog.

Antiflex Spacer: One set is required for each cog that has 21 -30 teeth.

Tools: You will need a lockring remover and chain whip remove your old cogset and assemble the new one on the hub.

Marchisio/Torelli assembly - general notes.

Download the appropriate chart for the number of cogs and shifting system you are using:

8 Speed Cassette

8 Speed Cassette (w/11 tooth)

9 Speed Cassette

9 Speed Cassette (w/11 tooth)

9 Speed Cassette (on Campy 8 speed hub)

10 Speed Cassette (Campy only)

Each cog with more than 20 teeth must be equipped with 10 Antiflex spacers. For ease of assembly these can be glued onto each required cog with a drop of super glue, although this is not a necesity.

For 8 and 9 speed cassettes place a .5mm sheet shim sheet on the empty cassette body first. The adapters have a specific oreintation on the cassette body. The cog number on must face toward the spokes. Place the gap of the coǵs inner profile above the circle mark on the adapter. Make sure that the cogs are properly pressed on the adapters. It́s a good idea to lubricate the adapters with grease.

8 speed cassettes need another .5mm sheet shim before the largest start cog (Note: a cassette starting with 11 teeth requires another 12 teeth start cog in the second position!).

10 speed cassettes do not require a sheet shim but do require the special 1.9mm spacer directly after the largest cog which must the special Campagnolo 10 speed 10th position cog.

Finally, tighten the lockring properly (40 Nm) and check your cassette after the first ride.
